Play golf in Victor Harbor at McCracken Country Club
In 2012, Brendan James, Editor of Golf Australia magazine reviewed McCracken Country Club, stating that the course has the potential to cement a place deep in the Top-100 (Public Access Courses in Australia) in the future years, due to its “vastly improved presentation of its fairways and greens” in recent times, complemented by the quality of the design.
Designed by renowned golf architect Tony Cashmore, McCracken Country Club’s international championship standard 18 hole course is one of more than 5 courses located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and offers both guests staying at the resort and the public the opportunity to test their skills on this challenging, but rewarding layout.
Undulating fairways lead to manicured greens, amongst the picturesque hazards scattered throughout the course – 72 bunkers and 14 lakes & ponds which will sometimes be cause for even the best golfer to come unstuck. But when you do take the risk, it can be duly rewarded, which is what makes this course such a competitive challenge amongst friends.
Green Fees for 18 holes of play are as follows:
Everyday (incl weekends, public holidays and school holidays): $49 per person

The On Course – Pro Shop is managed by Peter Bickley. Together with his team of PGA professionals, they will be happy to assist you with all aspects of your golfing game, including tuition, latest merchandise, matching clubs to your needs and hire equipment (such as clubs, buggies etc) for anyone travelling without their own gear.
Tuition prices start from $60 for a half hour lesson. Improve your game further with flight scope, which radar tracks your golf swing and ball flight to show which clubs are best suited to your swing. A video lesson will also help you to refine your game (a 45 minute lesson with video $80).
Tuition packages can be designed and tailored for your needs, as can gift vouchers, if you would like to give the gift of golf to a friend or family member.
Pro-files:
Billy Minns has been a member of the Australian PGA since 1991 and has spent the last 20 years as the Manager and Head Professional of Broome Golf Club in WA before coming to McCracken Resort in June 2024. The McCracken pro shop is part of the On Course Golf Group and Billy is more than willing to help with tee times, lessons, and golfing merchandise.
Lessons are available by appointment at $65 (30 mins) or $110 (60 mins), and Billy likes to mix old school teaching methods with new.
The McCracken Golf Course is open 7 days a week to the public and bookings are preferred to avoid disappointment.
The driving range is open 7 days a week and no bookings are required.
